What to do with Max Scherzer

As most of Detroit fans know Max Scherzer's contract expires after this season. The Tigers should re-sign him, but only to trade him immediately after. Detroit is a mid-market team, meaning they can't afford the huge payrolls like the Dodgers or the Yankees. Also, the Tigers don't necessarily have the greatest farm system. There is a way we can keep Max the rest of the season and still gain a few valuable prospects to help us out in the future. I would say we could keep Max and sign him to a modest contract, but we all know that will not happen when Scott Boras is the player's agent (see Prince Fielder's contract.....). The question comes down to who do you want more Miguel Cabrera or Max Scherzer and the obvious answer is Miguel. Mr. Illitch cannot afford to pay close to 100 million dollars on four contracts (Verlander, Cabrera, Fielder, and Max). Our farm system has very few prospects, we should be able to get 2-3 from Scherzer. In the end I love Max as much as his finance does, but the Tigers organization has to do the responsible thing.
